What it is: The Florida Department of Health's Division of Children's Medical Services developed this initiative with universities and health systems to run regional pediatric mental health access teams, called Behavioral Health Hubs. The stated aim is to give pediatric and primary care providers the knowledge, skills, and confidence to identify and treat common childhood conditions like ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
How the model works: Providers enroll free of charge for integrated behavioral health practice transformation and ongoing training. The hubs offer telepsychiatry consultation and care coordination to link families to community resources, and a statewide Florida Pediatric Behavioral Health hotline serves providers who aren't tied to a hub.
