The Periscope Project is a statewide, provider-to-provider perinatal psychiatric access program, created by the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine in 2017 to address gaps in perinatal mental health care in Wisconsin.
How it works
A Wisconsin clinician can reach a perinatal psychiatrist for consultation within 30 minutes, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., about mental health conditions and substance use during and after pregnancy. The program lists a provider teleconsultation line at 877-296-9049.
What it offers
Its core services are free: quick consultation, information on local resources for pregnant and postpartum patients, and provider education, including downloadable toolkits and presentations.
