What it is

PEACE for Moms, short for Perinatal Psychiatry, Education and Community Engagement, is a perinatal psychiatry access program that consults with the doctors, nurses, midwives, and other clinicians across Georgia whose pregnant and postpartum patients need help for a mental health condition.

How it works

The program says a clinician can reach a psychiatrist within 30 minutes, and that all consultations are free and confidential. Calls go first to a triage coordinator, which it says usually takes less than two minutes.

Who runs it

It's part of the Emory Brain Health Center and is staffed five days a week by perinatal psychiatrists from the Emory University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, with funding from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
