What it is
LIGHT-ETP is Georgia's coordinated specialty care initiative for young people in the early stages of psychosis. The state's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities began developing it in 2015 to bring coordinated specialty care to young adults, generally ages 16 to 30.
How it's organized
Rather than one clinic, LIGHT-ETP is a framework that several regional programs operate under, including teams named EMERGE, InTUNE, and Evolve, each delivering coordinated specialty care in a different part of the state.
The model
Coordinated specialty care brings together a multidisciplinary team to treat early psychosis while helping the person stay in school, work, and relationships, which is the shared approach across the first-episode programs in this Atlas.

shrinkiatry context

LIGHT-ETP is how Georgia reaches first-episode psychosis, and its regional-team structure is worth noting: a state agency sets the model and funds it, and local behavioral health providers run the teams that see patients. That's a different route to the same place as New York's OnTrackNY network or Indiana's single academic center at PARC. For the Atlas, it's the Georgia first-episode entry, and the named regional teams make it easier for a family to find the program that covers them.
